This relationship often becomes the most transformative aspect of our program.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Adeyemi, a retired teacher, mentors three boys. &#8220;I see myself in them,&#8221; he says. &#8220;I grew up poor but education changed my life. Now I get to pay it forward.&#8221; Every Saturday, he meets his mentees at the community library, helping with homework and sharing life wisdom.<\/p>\n<p>For girls especially, female mentors provide crucial guidance. Mrs. Ngozi, a nurse, mentors five girls, discussing everything from academic goals to health and self-confidence. &#8220;They need to see women succeeding,&#8221; she insists. &#8220;It expands their sense of what&#8217;s possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The mentorship program has yielded remarkable results. Mentored children show higher self-esteem, better academic performance, and clearer career aspirations. Many former scholars return as mentors themselves, creating a beautiful cycle of giving back.<\/p>\n<p>These relationships last beyond the program.
